How can I request a custom fine art commission from Yana Evans?

Just send me an email with your idea, a reference if you have one, and any details you want to include — mood, size, deadline, medium, etc. From there, I’ll guide you through everything step by step.

Can i ask questions or get guidance before committing?

Absolutely. Questions are welcome before, during, and after the commission. I’m always happy to walk you through the process and help shape your vision.

What happens after i submit my commission request?

You’ll hear back from me within 2–3 working days. I’ll ask follow-up questions, clarify the concept, and once we’re aligned — we’ll agree on the timeline, payment terms, and start the process.

How much does a custom artwork cost?

Prices vary depending on the size, detail, and medium. For oil paintings, expect a starting price of $3500 for medium sizes and $6000+ for large formats. Super large or concept-heavy works are priced on a case-by-case basis. I’ll give you a clear quote once I understand the idea.

What sizes and mediums do you work with?

I work in graphite pencil, charcoal, oil, and acrylic — in virtually any size, including unusual shapes like ovals or custom frames (rotonda, antique styles, etc.).

Can you create artwork based on photos or specific ideas?

Yes — you can share a reference photo, concept, or mood board. The more context you provide, the better I can create something personal for you.

Please note that if your idea involves copyrighted characters (e.g., from games or films), I will only accept it as a private, non-commercial commission, and the artwork will be clearly marked as transformative fan art.

Do you work with fan art or characters from games, books, or other media?

Yes — occasionally. I can create transformative works inspired by fictional characters, but these are purely personal reinterpretations. They are not official, licensed artworks.
If you’re commissioning a piece that includes a known character or element, it must be for private, non-commercial use only. I don’t reproduce or sell prints of such work, and I respect the rights of original creators.

Can you customise artwork for specific interior design styles or emotional themes?

Definitely. I can tailor color palettes, composition, and framing to fit a particular space or emotional story. I’ve done everything from soft feminine energy to bold, mythic themes.

Do you personalise art with names, dates, or messages?

Yes, all artworks are signed and dated by default. You can also request custom messages on the back or subtle elements incorporated into the piece. Note: Personalised pieces require a 100% deposit and are non-refundable, as they become uniquely yours and cannot be resold.

How long does it take to complete a commission?

Graphite or charcoal works typically take up to a week. Oil paintings take no less than a month and often around 6 months, depending on complexity and drying time. Tight deadlines must be discussed upfront.

Will i receive updates and communicate during the process?

Yes — I provide regular updates, especially at the early sketch and underpainting stages. For oil paintings, you'll get weekly video updates at the beginning, then twice monthly. I’m also available for video calls if needed.

Can i request changes or revisions during the commission?

You can request one minor change at the sketch stage for free. Significant changes or a complete re-sketch will incur additional charges. I’ll always be transparent and respectful in dialogue about revisions.

Can i request changes after the artwork is finished?

Minor touch-ups may be possible, but major changes after completion are typically not accepted. I encourage open dialogue throughout the process to avoid this situation.

How do you handle commissions that don’t meet client expectations?

If you’re deeply unsatisfied, and you've only paid 50%, you can choose to cancel the order and not receive the artwork. If you paid 100%, the artwork is yours. If the piece stays with me, I retain full rights to exhibit, sell, or publish it.

How do you handle copyrights, usage rights, and reproduction?

All copyrights remain with me unless otherwise agreed in writing. I may share or exhibit the artwork online, in media, or at shows. You are welcome to display, gift, or resell the physical piece once it’s in your hands.

Are prints available, or is it only original artwork?

At the moment, I only offer original artworks. If prints become available in the future, I’ll announce it.

Do you guarantee the originality and authenticity of your art?

Yes. Every artwork is one of a kind, signed, dated, and created by me from scratch. No replicas, no shortcuts.

Can i resell the artwork later?

Of course — it’s yours once you receive it. You’re welcome to gift, resell, or keep it forever.

Can you provide a digital preview or mockup of the artwork in my space?

Yes — just send me a photo of your wall or space, and I’ll mock up how the artwork could look in it.

How can i commission art as a gift?

Simple. Let me know it’s a gift and provide the recipient’s address and any special requests. I can prepare personalised packaging and coordinate delivery.

What should i do if i want a similar artwork but can’t afford the original?

Reach out anyway and be honest about your situation. If I can, I’ll suggest an alternative format, payment plan, or more accessible option.

How do you approach working with repeat clients or collectors?

Repeat clients become close collaborators — I love long-term relationships. You’ll get priority in scheduling, custom options, and little surprises along the way.

Do you accept barter or trade arrangements?

Sometimes, depending on what’s being offered. Be transparent — I’m open to creative exchanges if it makes sense for both sides.

Are you open to commissioning art for charity or non-profits?

Yes — I need to understand the mission and how the art will be used. If I support the cause and believe in it, I’d be happy to contribute.

How do you balance creativity with client expectations?

It’s a dance. I listen deeply, stay transparent, and trust my intuition. The goal is always to make something meaningful — not just pretty.

Can you recreate or restore older artworks?

I can recreate the spirit or theme of an older work, but not make a replica. I do not restore damaged art — that’s a job for a specialist.

Can you create digital artwork or NFTs?

No, I work only with traditional, physical mediums — graphite, charcoal, oil, and acrylic.

Is a deposit required before starting a commission? How much?

Yes, a deposit is required to begin any commissioned artwork. In most cases, a 50% deposit is expected upfront. For small or medium-sized works, or pieces that are highly personalized, a 100% upfront payment may be requested. This ensures your place in my schedule and covers preparation time and materials.

What payment methods do you accept?

I accept the following payment methods:
– Direct bank transfers via SWIFT or card number
– Secure online payments through a personalized link (this link will show the exact amount due and clearly state what you’re paying for).

If you're unsure which method is best for you, feel free to reach out for assistance.

Can I pay in installments or set up a payment plan?

At the moment, I do not offer installment plans through platforms like Klarna or similar services. However, if you're experiencing financial difficulty or have a specific situation, you’re welcome to contact me directly. I’m open to discussing options — I only ask for full honesty and transparent communication.

What is your refund or cancellation policy?

Because commissions are custom-made and deeply personal, refunds are not offered once I’ve started working on your piece.
– If I have not yet begun your artwork, you may cancel within 24 hours of placing the order, and I will refund your deposit (minus any bank fees).
– If I have already started, the deposit is non-refundable.
– For ready-made artwork, I do not offer refunds, but I can offer an exchange for another piece of equal or greater value. The returned piece must arrive in perfect condition and be shipped in the original packaging. If it arrives damaged, I will not issue a refund or exchange.

Do you offer invoices or receipts for payment?

Yes, I provide invoices or receipts upon request. These can be sent digitally and will include a clear breakdown of the services or artwork paid for.

Are there any additional fees (e.g., currency conversion, taxes)?

Yes, your bank may charge additional fees such as currency conversion or international transfer charges. These vary depending on your bank's policies.
For example:
– Some banks charge a flat fee ($10–$50)
– Others may charge a percentage of the total
Please contact your bank directly if you want to know the exact amount. I am not responsible for these fees, and they are not included in the price I quote you.

Is payment secure on your website?

Yes, all online payments are processed through secure and verified systems. Your payment link is unique, protected, and designed specifically for your transaction.

What happens if payment is delayed or late?

Payments typically arrive within up to 5 business days, depending on your bank.
– If your transfer doesn’t go through, your bank will usually notify you and explain why it failed.
– Please note: I don’t have access to payment tracking, and if the transfer is unsuccessful, neither I nor my bank can assist — only your bank can.
– I begin work only after payment has been successfully received.

Do you offer discounts or promotions?

I don’t run discounts or promotional offers at this time. I already do my best to keep my prices fair and accessible. That said, you are always welcome to reach out with your situation or offer — I’m happy to talk and see if we can find a solution that works for both of us.

How long does it take to prepare an artwork for shipping?

Preparation time depends on the type of artwork:
– For ready-to-ship artworks, packaging usually takes 1–2 business days.
– For custom works, especially those with unusual dimensions, please allow up to one week for careful packaging and crate construction.

How much does shipping cost?

Shipping costs depend on the destination and package weight. I’ll provide a final quote once I know your shipping address and the weight of the piece.
To give you a general idea:
– Small packages to the EU: around $100 USD
– Small packages to the USA: around $230 USD
– Large crates to the EU: around $150 USD
– Large crates to the USA: around $400 USD
I provide both home-scale photos and post office weight confirmations, so you know the shipment left me in perfect condition.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes, I ship worldwide. No matter where you are, we can usually arrange shipping to your location — even if it’s a remote or challenging address (see Question 16).

How long does shipping take?

Shipping usually takes between 7 and 14 business days, and often less. However, delays can occasionally occur due to customs, extreme weather, or other rare disruptions. Most shipments arrive smoothly and on time.

What shipping carriers do you use?

I ship exclusively with EMS (Express Mail Service), which offers reliable, trackable, and secure express international delivery.

Is the artwork insured during shipping?

Yes — every artwork is fully insured for the maximum possible value to protect against loss or damage during transport.

How is the artwork packaged to prevent damage?

Each artwork is packed with great care:
– Custom plywood boxes, handmade for the artwork
– Handles added for large packages to ease transport
– Generous bubble wrap and internal cushioning
– Sealed internal packaging to protect delicate surfaces like charcoal or graphite
It would take serious force and intent to damage the contents.

Can I track my shipment?

Absolutely. You’ll receive your tracking number as soon as I leave the post office. It usually becomes active within the hour, with the first update showing the parcel was accepted at the postal facility.

Are there customs fees or import taxes I should expect?

This depends entirely on your country’s customs policy. Please check directly with your local customs office. If needed, I’m happy to help adjust documentation or support your customs process — just let me know in advance.

Do you offer expedited or express shipping?

Yes, I always ship via express services, choosing the fastest and most secure option available. No standard or slow delivery is used.

What is your handling time before shipment?

– 1–2 business days for ready-to-ship pieces
– Up to 7 days for large or unusual custom commissions that require special crating or structural packaging

Can you ship to P.O. boxes or APO addresses?

In most cases, yes. If I have any doubts about a particular address, I will reach out to you directly to confirm details and work together to find the best delivery solution.

What if my shipment is delayed due to customs or weather?

If your package is delayed:
– By your country’s customs, you’ll need to contact them directly to resolve the issue
– Due to weather or global disruptions, we’ll need to wait it out, but I’ll be here for updates and support
– If there’s a delay on my side, I’ll handle it personally and keep you informed at every step
Fortunately, delays are very rare — most packages clear customs within a few hours.

What happens if my artwork is damaged in shipping?

If your package appears damaged, you must document it immediately at the post office when receiving it.
– Take clear photos and file a damage report
– This proof is essential for insurance claims
I will fully assist you through this process. However, no claims will be honoured without official proof the damage occurred during shipping.

What do you do if an artwork is lost or damaged in transit?

In the unlikely event that your artwork is lost or severely damaged, we will file an insurance claim with the carrier.
– I’ll help you through the paperwork and documentation
– I’ll remain in close contact to support you during the resolution
So far, I’ve never had a piece lost or damaged in shipping — but if it happens, I’ll be by your side until it’s resolved.

Can you ship to remote or difficult locations?

Yes — I’ll find a way. If needed, we can build a custom delivery route, seek help from local contacts, or develop alternative shipping methods. I’m happy to go the extra mile to get your artwork to you — even if it’s off the beaten path.

Do you provide gift wrapping or special packaging options?

Absolutely. I offer gift wrapping and personalised packaging upon request. Whether it’s a birthday, anniversary, or just a thoughtful surprise, I’ll help create a beautiful unboxing experience tailored for the occasion.

How do you ensure color accuracy in your artwork?

I photograph or scan my artworks depending on the medium and available tools, and I always aim to represent the colours as accurately as possible. However, color perception varies depending on lighting conditions—bright sunlight versus cool artificial light can completely change how a piece looks, even to the human eye. While 100% colour accuracy is nearly impossible, I do my best to ensure what you see is close to what you’ll receive.

What inspires your art?

I’m deeply inspired by cultures, mythology, folktales, human stories, and history. People themselves—how they live, feel, and imagine—are a huge source of creative energy for me. This world, in all its depth and contradiction, is my ongoing inspiration.

Can I get a certificate of authenticity?

Absolutely. Every original artwork comes with a certificate of authenticity, which is also a required document for international customs clearance. The certificate is officially registered with the Ministry of Culture—one copy is archived there, and the second is provided to you, attached outside the shipping box alongside other necessary documents.

What is the best way to care for or preserve the artwork?

For drawings, keep them in a dry, dark space, ideally in a protective sleeve or frame, and out of direct sunlight. For paintings, avoid direct exposure to sunlight and extreme humidity. Framing behind glass (for works on paper) or with a floating frame (for canvas) is highly recommended for long-term preservation.

How do you protect your artworks from fading or damage over time?

Before shipping, I store all artwork in dry, dark environments to preserve their condition. Drawings are individually sleeved, and paintings are kept unexposed to light or temperature changes. I don’t use cheap materials—everything is archival quality to ensure longevity.

What is your policy on reproducing your artwork for merchandising?

I don’t have a strict policy. If someone decides to illegally reproduce my artwork on merchandise—say, printing it on t-shirts—I’m not going to waste energy chasing it in court. If they include my name, I consider that unexpected marketing. If they even want to share profits with me, that’s even better (here’s my bank account, go wild). But I’m not spending my life fighting windmills—I'd rather be making art or gaming.

Do you guarantee the originality and authenticity of your art?

Yes. Every artwork is created by me, with my hands and heart. It’s one-of-a-kind and fully original unless stated otherwise (such as reinterpretations or commissions based on a specific idea). You will receive official documentation proving its authenticity.

Do you offer framing or mounting services?

Yes, I offer full professional framing services — including glass, passepartout, and any special details you want. We’ll choose everything together via video call or message while I’m at the framing studio, so you stay involved every step of the way. Pricing depends on materials selected.
Framing usually takes 2–3 working days. For ready-made artworks, that means I ship within 4–5 working days after payment. If your artwork requires custom packaging (which takes up to a week), framing will be done simultaneously and won’t affect shipping time.
Mounting, though? I can’t physically mount your art at your home — unless you're buying me a plane ticket, haha.

Can I visit your studio or gallery?

Right now, I don’t host visits to my studio. But if you ever travel to my country, I’d be thrilled to recommend my favourite hidden gems and the most delicious spots to eat.

Do you do custom requests for corporate or commercial projects?

Possibly — it depends on the project. If I’m confident I can meet the vision and deliver what’s needed, I’ll happily say yes. If not, I’ll be honest and decline. Some ideas are just too big to chew, and I respect your time and mine.

Are your artworks available for exhibitions or rentals?

My artworks are available for exhibitions — reach out if you're curating something. I don’t offer artwork rentals at this time.

Do you collaborate with other artists or brands?

I don’t currently collaborate with other artists — I’m a lone wolf at heart. But I am open to brand collaborations if the fit feels right.

Do you offer workshops, classes, or art coaching?

Not at the moment. I used to teach entry-level art classes, but that’s on pause for now. If there’s enough interest, I might consider creating pre-recorded classes. Just know — I may not be the softest coach out there ^^

How do you handle cultural sensitivity or appropriation concerns?

I believe cultures are meant to be shared, learned from, and appreciated. No one owns a fairytale, a spice, or a myth. I explore different traditions with deep respect and joy, and I see that as a way of honouring, not stealing. Diversity is beauty. Sharing is caring.

How do you decide which artworks to keep for yourself or sell?

I don’t keep my artworks — I create them to let them go. Once a piece has brought joy to my life, it’s ready to bring joy to yours. Everything in life is temporary, and I embrace that fully.

How can I best support your work aside from buying art?

Coffee, flowers, share
